For each shell element object, stresses are first calculated at integration points and , then extrapolated to the joints of the shell element. When multiple shell elements objects share a common joint, the joint stresses which are calculated from each joined shell elements object may be different. When stresses averaging is turned on, the stress at the each joint is averaged by adding up the stresses from all connected shell elements and by dividing the sum by the total number of connected shell elementsJoint stress is given as the average of those values taken from shells which share a common joint when the Stress Averaging option is specified.
