What is the difference between PERFORM-3D and SAP2000?

Answer: PERFORM-3D has some special types of nonlinear elements that are currently not available in SAP2000 (such as Shear Wall element, General Wall element, Infill Panel element). Additionally, PERFORM 3D allows you to define various limit states for different elements and output D/C ratios for these limit states. This feature is not currently available in SAP2000.

Our goal is to eventually integrate PERFORM 3D with SAP2000 so that the users could use elements available in PERFORM 3D within the SAP2000 interface that they are familiar with. Please note that a general nonlinear layered shell element has been already implemented in V14 of SAP2000 and it can be used for the similar purpose as the PERFORM wall elements.
