Vehicles refer to the vehicle live loads which are applied to the analytical model of a roadway structure. Any number of vehicles may act within a traffic lane. A variety of standard vehicle types are available. Longitudinally, each vehicle may consist of any combination of concentrated and distributed loading. The width of each component may be specified, then width effects position the load within the transverse direction to maximize response. These response quantities are computed according to the influence line or surface. Influence-based moving-load cases may be applied. Further, vehicle loading may be combined with direct-integration time-history analysis to capture dynamic effects. Additional information is available in the Analysis Reference Manual (General Vehicle, page 444).
